Services offered

The Green Candidates Resource Center is a cooperative formed by some of the most experienced political workers in the Green Party specifically to help Green candidates run better races and win more often. Candidates in other parties have access to not only more money, but more intellectual resources than Green candidates. We want to level that playing field, give Green candidates the opportunity to get the right data base program for their campaign strategy, instead of getting turned down by the Democratic party data base company, get the best advice on postioning themselves for victory, or the right trainer to work with their campaign team on Get Out The Vote.

The following is a partial list of the services the current members of the cooperative offer. If you do not see what you are looking for, we may offer it, or know who you can turn to for that work. To access any of these services call Greg Gerritt at 401-331-0529 or email him at gerritt@mindspring.com

Green Candidates Resource Center Services

The GCRC provides services to Green candidates and potential candidates from the first glimmering of the idea to run, to putting together a staff once elected.

Services offered begin with a candidate or a state party seeking a first consultation about whether or not to run, about what it takes to run well, what it takes to put together a campaign. We can help people take that first step or help them develop the process for making a decision.

Once the decision is made to run members of the Candidates Resources cooperative can provide whatever other services you need from hiring a staff to setting up a data base, creating a web and social marketing presence, training petitioners, setting up a policy writing team, improving your public speaking, and get out the vote. For the most part members of the cooperative are firmly rooted in work in their own community and would do this on a remote or short term basis, with an emphasis on helping candidates tap into local expertise whenever possible, providing the most of those services that we can do from home with no drop off in quality or with a short trip.

Is It Expensive?

Services are remarkably inexpensive, in keeping with our understanding that we have to really provide value to your campaign, help your campaign become much more effective and raise more money or you will not be able to afford our services. Nearly all of what we can do for you will be accessible by phone or internet, thereby saving lots of money, and reducing our carbon footprint. Often a 15 minute phone call is all it will take to solve a particualr problem. A hiring a campaign team package, with all of the needed services would be a 5 to 15 hour job most of the time, spread out over several weeks.

Writing is a remarkably quick job. 2 or 3 hours for a fundraising letter would be a big back and forth deal. Brochure drafts in an hour or two. Questionnaires in two hours. Managing the editing process can all be done with a few judicious emails if a good local team is developed. Data base programs can used off the shelf with a minimum of training, or can be developed for your particular needs.
